What is servitization?
Servitization is the integration of services and products onto complete business concepts. This is already a central, global driving force in the conversion of the manufacturing industry – and is only expected to accelerate in the future.
The research indicates great untapped financial potential for companies. Servization can take many different forms and there is typically a link between products and services, e.g. the complete solution – which is the starting point for the business model.
When sustainability is considered, it can be:
- Aftersales in continuation of product sales, e.g. uptime guarantee, monitoring, maintenance and help desks.
- Circular business models, where companies recycle or refine waste products, or take-back models where refined products are continuously replaced and recycled.
