New technologies to support decision-making in agriculture
The SqM Farm project investigates how artificial intelligence based on data from drones, robots and satellites can help optimise quality and exploit of agricultural lands.
At the workshop, the initial results from the SqM Farm project (Square Meter Farm) will be presented. The project investigates how artificial intelligence based on data from drones, robots and satellits can help optimise quality and the exploit of agricultural lands.
The project will:
- Help the farmer decide where, when and how often a certain area needs inspection.
- Further develop camera-based sensors to determine crop growth, nutrient status, disease attacks, weeds and pest.
- Further develop affordable drone and robot systems for data collection in agriculture.
- Develop a decision support system for converting the collected data into useful information for the farmer.
- Demonstrate how the system will function in a modern company.
At the workshop, there will be an opportunity to meet companies and scientists who work closely together to produce the future’s technological solutions for agriculture, and hear how you can collect data and test solutions at Gyldensteen Gods, which functions as test site for the project.
The workshop will end with a demo, where participants will have a chance to see an observation robot, a drone and a field robot in action.
The target group for the workshop: farmers, companies working with technologies for agriculture and organisations within agriculture and knowledge institutes.
Project partners are: Agrointelli (project leader), Conpleks, FieldSense, Gyldensteen Gods, Aarhus Universitet and SDU.
SqM-Farm is supported by Green Development and Demonstration Programme (GUDP) under the Environment and Food Ministry and will run forward towards 2022.
Please note: The event will be recorded for future use.
