StartUp Walk-In: Meet the brothers behind the successful agricultural robot

On March 8, 2023, you can soak up knowledge on starting a robotics business and get a lot of great advice from leading industry experts. This StartUp Walk-In will have not one but two role models at once – for the first time ever.

Meet the brothers Kristian and Jens Vest Warming

The Jutland brothers Kristian Vest Warming and Jens Vest Warming are the founders of FarmDroid and the successful agricultural robot that is now taking over many of the fields in Denmark and Europe. The FarmDroid robot, which runs on solar energy, is self-driving and can both sow different crops and mechanically remove weeds.

Behind FarmDroid:

• In 2018, Kristian and Jens founded FarmDroid while they were part of the Odense Robotics StartUp Hub at the Danish Technological Institute.
• In 2011, one of the brothers had the idea for the robot while he was in a field hand-weeding organic beets. He felt it was too mundane and he then made a robot that could weed by itself.
• Just one year later, the first robot was running in the field and today FarmDroid has over 300 robots around fields in Denmark and Europe.
• Today, the two co-founders divide the responsibilities between them with Kristian as Chief of Farming Robots and Jens as CTO.

On 8 March, the Warming brothers will among other things talk about their journey and how FarmDroid got to where it is today. They will also share their thoughts on what they believe is important when starting a business.
